SASSA September 2026 Payment Dates - 7 Sept Review Explained
SASSA has confirmed September 2026 grant payment dates and warned that 7 September payment is ONLY for beneficiaries under review.
Confirmed SASSA Payment Dates September 2026
- Wednesday 2 Sept: Older Persons Grant
- Thursday 3 Sept: Disability Grant + War Veterans
- Friday 4 Sept: Children's Grants - Child Support, Foster Child, Care Dependency
- Monday 7 Sept: FOURTH DAY - Only for grants under review / eLife verification
SASSA pays grants as early as possible each month, staggered over 3 days. They avoid 1st of month, Mondays, weekends, and days after public holiday. If date falls on weekend, it moves to next working day. September 2026 fits perfectly so dates are 2nd, 3rd, 4th.
Why Some Did Not Get Paid on 4 September?
SASSA says caregivers whose grants are under review will NOT receive payment on normal 4 Sept date. Payment is processed on 7 Sept ONLY if review documents submitted. SASSA sends SMS to notify review, but many miss SMS due to outdated numbers.

- Bank statements (3 months)
- Proof of residence
If you ignore review, grant can be suspended or lapsed per Social Assistance Act.
